Is it true in the Italian culture that you don’t give baby showers or set up nursery till AFTER the birth?
I am adopted by my family is Italian. My Dad’s mom is from Italy and is Roman Catholic.
My husband is Russian and we have been married for 8 months and expecting our first baby.
According to my dad, I am not getting a baby shower, and the baby will not be celebrated till after the birth because it is bad luck
Why?
I’m 100% Italian and I’ve never heard that. Sounds about right though, they’re pretty paranoid, skeptical & superstitious. At least my crazy family is.
