What is the best way to transition my toddler from a crib in one room to a toddler bed in a new bedroom.?

I have a newborn on the way and need to transition my daughter (20 months) to a new bedroom and a toddler bed before the baby comes (I want to keep the crib in the nursery). Should I temporarily move the crib to her new room for a while and then intro the bed?

I think the best thing for you to do is make the room your daughter is going to move into be a nursery. There couldn’t possibly be anything permanently in place that only allows this room to be THE nursery. I also suggest saving your money and getting a twin bed with rails that can be removed when she’s older. There’s no real reason to have a toddler bed. If you insist on moving her room, get excited yourself about her getting big enough for a big bed and take her to pick out her own sheets and blanket. Praise her a lot for being such a big girl and have her help you set up her new room. I’d try to place things just as they are in her old room. Put her bed where the crib was and dresser and so on.
