Why does the Cheif sleep in that special bed?

Hi, in Halo, the master chief, is he a human? How come he wears the green army, while his troops wear normal body armour? And Why does he sleep in his army inside that stasus pod?

He is the last remaining Spartan soldier.
There were loads of them but they all died, but officially they were listed as Missing in action to keep morral up in the army so all spartans could “never die”.
Most of them died on a planet called Reach. Which was like earth’s big military planet.

The armour is human crossed with covenant technology. With shields and etc, so he’s much stronger. He’s human but they modified him since an early age with injections and etc to make him much stronger than an ordinary person.
Those beds are cryo-tubes. They prevent aging and things and allow him rest.

The suit is green for camoflage im guessing.=P
