Crochet Baby Bedding
What would be quicker: a baby blanket using straight single and double crochet stitches or granny squares?

I want to make a baby blanket for my daughter, however she is due in October and I don’t have a whole lot of time left to make it. Would you suggest just making a basic blanket out of single and double crochet stitches or would you make different granny squares and then connect them for the blanket? I have 4 skeins of yarn in 4 different colors that match the bedding set I’ve registered for. Brown, light yellow, mauve pink, and white. It matches this bedding:

I am intermediate in skill and can work fairly quickly I just don’t know how much time I’ll have and want it too look nice, not thrown together. Thanks for the advice.

My sister just had a baby and got this bedding too!!!
I think it would be really cute, and for me, it would go faster to just do straight double crochet. I think it would look nice to make the blanket striped doing 2-3 rows of each color and repeating in the same order. For granny squares, there’s a lot of changing colors and then you have to sew them together. I think the straight stitches would be quicker.

If you add a border to it, it will look a little nicer too, less thrown together.

I don’t know if she has wall decorations or not, but my sister got 3 canvases, and painted the bird silhouette to match the print in 3 different combos (pink background/brown bird, brown bg/white white, yellow bg/brown bird. It turned out really good and was so easy!
