Sesame Street Bedding
We a daisy troop of about 6-8 girls ages 5 and 6. We are going to be in the christmas parade in our small town. We have a small flat bed trailor being pulled by a 6 seater gator we need ideas on how to incorporate Sesame Street and ABC and Christmas together for a small float. We don’t have a lot of money so please No EXPENSIVE ideas. We are a new troop so funds are limited. Thank you You could make some sesame street character costumes for the girls to wear. For Elmo just have one of the girls wear all red with a red hood that has two Styrofoam balls with black in the center for eyes and a egg cup painted red glued to the top for the nose. Big bird-same as elmo just have her wearing yellow instead with a big orange beak made from cardboard. You can make the other characters as well and have them all wearing a Santa Claus hats and a scarf. You could also have two of the girls dressed as Santa Claus and Mrs Claus. You can either have a fake tree or you can make one from card board and green paint. Have it decorated in the different letters of the alphabet. You can cut the letters from cardboard and then have the girls decorate them. Attach a hook at the top so you can hang them from the tree. Make a big letter for the top of the tree. Also take empty boxes and wrap them in alphabet paper or a solid color and then wright a big A B etc on the front and have them under the tree. Have all the girls throwing candy and waving to the crowd. You can buy the candy and probably Sesame Street costumes after Halloween to save some money. You could also have Sesame Street music playing as well as the Alphabet song. |

Embroidered Baby Bedding
My daughter is 2 1/2 yrs. old and we are expecting another baby girl in June. To save some money and please my husband (if it were up to me I’d buy all new stuff!) I am going to re-use the bedding theme that we had for our daughter. It is in great condition and really is cute so I’m not upset about that, but it is the Tiddliwinks Bear Princess theme from Target, and I’m trying to figure out what to do with our plain white wall in her room. I don’t want to paint the room, but maybe put up wall art and those wall decals that you can remove easily. The bedding is pink, purple, and yellow mainly with teddy bears holding wands, it’s really cute…actually here is the site for the collection. So what do you think as far as other decor for the room? http://www.target.com/Tiddliwinks-Embroidered-Bear-Princess-Collection/dp/B00062MSZM/ref=cm_reviews_dp_seemore/602-7116052-4219026?ie=UTF8&coliid=&frombrowse=1&alt_view=custReviews&asin=B00062MSZM Congrats!!!! I think that you can do quite a few things to dress up the room without painting the walls. |

Halo Sleepsack
My baby is not quite 4 months and seems to have outgrown the 0-6 month sleeper and is outgrowing the 0-9 month Carter sack with sleeves. I guess she is pretty long but only 14 lbs. I guess my question is, is it bad for the sack to be a little cramped/snug lengthwise? i would think cramped isn’t good; i would be uncomfy, so i would think that applies to a baby as well; we have a few other brands, but mostly halo; they seem to have a lot more leg room than some of the others….if it’s getting cramped, def. move to a bigger size…what if baby wants to stretch? |

Baby Blanket Satin
I’m making a baby blanket for a friend, and I just can’t get the corners, any ideas? Since mitered corners are a bit more difficult, I’d like to suggest a method that many quilts are bound with. Measure the blanket lengthwise right down the center–do the same widthwise, again at the center of the blanket. You’ll need to cut two strips of your satin binding the length of your longest measurement and stitch along the edges with that measurement(usually that will be your top-to-bottom measurement.) Now measure the width of your satin binding and double it. Add this figure to your previous measurement of the width of the blanket. For example: Blanket width 36 in. plus the width of the satin binding doubled(let’s say the binding is 3 inches so double that = 6 inches)would add up to 42 inches. Cut two more strips of 42 inches each and sew them across the remaining two sides. Turn all bindings to the back of the blanket and hand stitch in place. Sorry this is so long-winded but hope it helps. |

Baby Bumper Pad
My baby is almost 6 months old now. I’ve heard that you should keep the bumpers off until 1 year because of SIDS, but now she is moving around so much at night. Two nights ago she was rolling in her sleep and her forehead hit the wooden side rail of the crib. Thankfully she’s okay, but I’m scared this might happen again. She’s so active – even when she’s sleeping! It has me wondering if it’s okay to put the bumper on now? I wouldn’t bother. They aren’t running at full speed and hitting the bars. Rolling into the bars isn’t going to hurt them at all. I was going to put them on after my son got about 8-9 mo but I didn’t because my neighbors kid untied his and was using them like a rope (still tied at one end) to try and stand. I have also heard of some kids using them as a step (although they’d have to be pretty thick) to get up higher and try to make it out of the crib. I decided not to put them on for either of my kids. No regrets. It made it easier for us to play peekaboo and to get pictures of them asleep. |
